Therapies and Conditions Treated

The Centre for Health & Well Being treatments are customized to your individual needs and may include a combination of the following therapies and services.

Naturopathic Medicine
Naturopathic medicine is a primary health care profession, which focuses on prevention and uses natural methods to promote healing. Naturopathic doctors examine, diagnose and treat patients with programs tailored to each patient and their health conditions. They use a combination of:
  • Clinical nutrition
  • Botanical (herbal) medicine
  • Homeopathic medicine
  • Physical treatments
  • Traditional Chinese Medicine (Acupuncture & Herbal Medicine)
  • Lifestyle counselling
Each modality is used to stimulate the body's self-healing abilities. The treatment focuses on the underlying causes of illness rather than the symptoms, often eliminating the need for long-term medical care or prescription drugs. For more information visit the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors website by clicking here and The Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors website by clicking here.

Chiropractic
Chiropractic is a primary health care profession, which is based upon the understanding that good health depends, in part, upon a healthy functioning nervous system. Chiropractic stresses the idea that the cause of many disease processes begins with the body's inability to adapt to its environment-resulting in stress or disease. It looks to address these diseases not by the use of drugs and chemicals, but by locating and adjusting a musculoskeletal area of the body that is functioning improperly. For more information click here.
Doctors of chiropractic utilize many of the time-honoured methods of consultation such as: case history, physical examination, x-ray examination, and referral as necessary for diagnostic imaging such as CT scan, MRI, and bone densitometry. The conditions which doctors of chiropractic address are as varied and as vast as the nervous system itself. All chiropractors use standards of examination to assess and diagnose a patient's condition and arrive at a course of treatment. In addition, they provide a careful chiropractic structural, functional and biomechanical examination, paying particular attention to the spine. For more information click here.

Activated Air Therapy
Oxygen metabolism is required for proper cell performance.  Free radical damage occurs during aging and also from over-exertion, exposure to toxins and from other environmental and lifestyle factors.  The specialized from of oxygen produced by the Active Air technology assists the body's oxidative response in counteracting the free radical damage from stress.  This therapy is helpful for everyone and is used for many conditions including:  Alzheimer's ADHD & ADD, arteriosclerosis, asthma, cardiovascular problems, celiac, chronic fatigue syndrome, diabetes, eczema, emplysema, fibromyalgia, gastric reflux, high blood pressure, hypothroidism and much more.

Core Cleanse Program
This comprehensive detoxification program can help your body rid itself of dangerous toxins and is known for increasing energy levels, optimizing digestive function, improving skin health, improving sleep patterns, and often results in weight and inch loss if the body is holding onto excess weight.  The program encourages the body to release deep toxins and food residues from the bowel, allows the body to utilize excess fat stores as fuel, increases lymphatic drainage and immune function and helps create a better balance in body function.

Massage Therapy
Massage Therapy is the manipulation of the soft tissues of the body to gain a therapeutic response. Soft tissue includes muscles, skin and connective tissue, tendons, ligaments and membranes. Massage Therapy provides an alternative health care option to help alleviate the soft tissue discomfort associated with everyday and occupational stresses, muscular over-use, many chronic pain syndromes, and the rehabilitation of various injuries and illnesses.
